Stephen J. Epstein is an Associate Professor at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington, where his research focuses on contemporary Korean society and popular culture. A translator of Korean and Indonesian literature, his works include Who Ate Up All the Shinga? by Park Wan-suh, The Long Road by Kim In-suk, and Intan Paramaditha’s Apple and Knife and The Wandering. His translations have received a PEN/Heim Translation Award and a Korea Times Translation Prize.
