Fit to Print wins prestigious French journalism award

The 2010 Assises du Journalisme Literary Prize has been awarded to the book Fit to Print: misrepresenting the Middle East by Dutch author, Joris Luyendijk.

Originally published in The Netherlands, Fit to Print has been translated into 10 languages and sold over 250,000 copies.

The Assises du Journalisme Literary Prize is a French literary prize awarded annually to a book on journalism and its practice. The prize is awarded by a 14 member jury of journalists and academics.

The 2010 jury, presided by the top French journalist Nicolas Demorand (Europe 1 radio), has for the first time awarded its prize to a non-French author and a non-French publisher.

The prize is to be awarded on Wednesday 17 November at the Strasburg City Hall.
