Deputy Premier of Queensland Jackie Trad, Former Treasurer and Labor Party President-Elect Wayne Swan MP, and other Queensland MPs will join New York Times bestselling author, journalist and historian Thomas Frank, as he delivers a searing and thought-provoking analysis of the current American political scene, and suggests what lessons Australians can learn from recent American political developments.
Thomas Frank has long chronicled the decline of the American middle class, the need for more meaningful action on income inequality, and the political implications for progressive parties that fail to address inequality. This public event will see Thomas engage with some of Australia’s most interesting progressive thinkers on these urgent issues for our time.
Queensland Labor and the Chifley Research Centre are pleased to present this unique event at Queensland Parliament on Thursday 1 August.
