This is to let you know what’s happening at Scribe in these unprecedented times.
Most of us have been working from home since early this week, carrying out all of our usual publishing functions. The office is still open with a skeleton staff in attendance, although we’re keeping this arrangement under constant review.
The nationwide cancellation of writers’ festivals and bookshop events has meant that we and our readers have been deprived of the presence of many of our authors. We’re doing what we can, nevertheless, to let the world know of their wonderful books.
Our print suppliers and warehouse are still functioning, and our publishing schedule remains full for the time being.
We and all booksellers are obviously deeply concerned about the human and economic impacts of the coronavirus, and we’re doing what we can to support each other. We’ve been touched and impressed by the imaginative ways in which booksellers have reached out to their communities, and we urge you to support them in any way you can.
We will let you know if there are any significant changes to our working arrangements.
