Two Scribe books longlisted for 2020 National Translation Awards

Frank Wynne’s translation of Among the Lost by Emiliano Monge and Sora Kim Russell’s translation of At Dusk by Hwang Sok-yong have both been longlisted for the 2020 National Translation Awards in Poetry and Prose.  The award, which is administered by the American Literary Translators Association, is the United States’ only national award for translated fiction, poetry, and literary nonfiction that includes a rigorous examination of both the source text and its relation to the finished English work.

The winning translators will receive a $2,500 cash prize each. The awards will be announced at ALTA’s annual conference, which this year has gone virtual. The awards ceremony will air on 15 October, 2020 on ALTA’s Crowdcast page: you can register to attend the NTA in Prose event here. The shortlists will be announced at the end of September. For more information please visit the American Literary Translators Association website

Congratulations to Emiliano Monge, Frank Wynne, Hwang Sok-young, Sora Kim-Russell, and all the longlisted authors and translators.
