We publish books that matter — narrative and literary nonfiction on important topics, and the best of local, international, and translated fiction.

As a company, Scribe supports the Voice as a vehicle for delivering a permanent, institutional means for First Nations Peoples to participate in the development of laws and policies that affect them. We feel it is well past time that this equalising measure be enacted.

We also acknowledge that whether the Voice goes far enough is a complex issue on which people will hold different views. We speak for our founder and our staff, and don’t presume to speak for any of the authors we’ve published. However, we do urge people to be informed, do their own research, and talk to the people who will be most affected by the outcome of the referendum.
