Scribe is to delighted to announce that it has signed Martin McKenzie-Murray to write a book about an apparently purposeless murder that occurred in Australia several years ago. The book, to be called A Murder Without Motive, is slated for publication in 2014. The work will be an account of the author’s search for a motive, amongst the suburbs, schools, injured families, prisons, and courts that were involved in the case. It will also be an examination of how different institutions of justice — from detectives to lawyers to psychologists — make their work meaningful, and of the faultlines that exist between each.
Martin is a regular columnist for The Age, and runs his own blog, Feeding the Chooks.
